Did you know Sir Harold Hillier Gardens is a CHARITY? If you are a UK taxpayer and you make a donation that is 10% more than the admission, the government will give us an extra 28% on top of your donation. Bookings for groups and guided tours must be made at least two weeks in advance of visit. The charge for standard guided tours is £60, but we also provide specialist guided tours at extra cost; please call for details. Coach parking is available. If you are already a regular visitor to the Gardens or likely to become one, you will find it beneficial to join our annual Membership.

 

The admission charges listed above relate to access to the Gardens' plant collection. There is no charge for entry to the Visitor Pavilion and restaurant.

Free car parking is available.

There are numerous picnic areas with benches available in the areas around the car park, but we kindly ask that you refrain from bringing picnics into the Gardens as this causes unwelcome rubbish.Thank you.

Opening Times

We are open all year except Christmas Day and Boxing Day.

Current Winter hours: (BWT from 2009): 10am to 5pm. Last admission to Gardens is 4pm, one hour before closing.

Summer hours (BST from 2010): 10am to 6pm (or dusk if earlier). Last admission is 5pm, one hour before closing. Summer late opening every Thursday until 7.30pm in June, July and August!

 

Xmas and New Year Opening Hours: Closed Xmas Day and Boxing Day, Open Normal hours on Bank Holiday Monday and New Years Day.

New bus service

From May to September every Sundays and Bank Holidays we will have a bus running between the Sir Harold Hillier Gardens, Mottisfont Abbey (National Trust), to include Romsey Train Station and Mottisfont & Dunbridge Train Station. We will be using a team of trained volunteer drivers for the bus which will therefore make it available free of charge to anybody wishing to use it. Please make use of this fantastic new ‘green’ initiative which will improve access to local Gardens for everyone in the area.

Pavilion Restaurant and open air terrace at Sir Harold Hillier Gardens, Romsey, Hampshire

Pavilion Restaurant

Light refreshments, home-cooked meals and afternoon teas are available every day at the stylish licensed Pavilion Restaurant with open-air terrace.

(Hot food information: Hot meals are served between the hours of 12noon–2.30pm, whilst homemade soup and jacket potatoes are available until 3.30pm)

Tea Rooms at Jermyns House & lawn

Due to popular demand during Spring and Summer, light refreshments and afternoon teas are also available at Jermyn's House Tea Rooms and Lawn.

Baby changing facilities, high chairs and children's menus at the Pavilion Restaurant (including healthy Bug Boxes with toy!) are available.

We welcome visits by groups. Every stage of your group's booking and subsequent visit will be handled by our experienced Group Visits Team. Perfect purchases at the gift shop at Sir Harold Hillier Gardens, Romsey, Hampshire

The gift shop (run by the Hillier Plant Centre) at the Visitor Pavilion is open from 10am to 5.30pm each day throughout the year (closed Christmas Day and Boxing Day).

Commercial Photography at the Sir Harold Hillier Gardens

Any person wishing to use the Sir Harold Hillier Gardens for the purposes of commercial photography must first speak to a member of staff at the Front Desk. We do welcome commercial photographers here at the Gardens, but we do ask to meet you first. There are regulations regarding commercial photography which must be observed.
