Seasonal Highlights at the Sir Harold Hillier Gardens, Hampshire
NEW RECRUITS TO THE HORTICULTURAL TEAM - 5 SADDLEBACK PIGS
They have a great sense of smell, love foraging around in the undergrowth and don't need to stop for a tea break. Five British saddleback pigs are the latest addition to the horticultural team to help clear woodland undergrowth in Ampfield Wood and have already cleared an impressive area. The pigs are on loan from from Manor Farm Country Park, they are a marvellous way of clearing vegetation without the use of pesticides and heavy machinery. So head up to the woods on your next visit to the Gardens and see our industrious team of woodland pigs doing what they do best - snuffling!
Check out the 'Plants of Current Interest' that are at their best in the Gardens this week.
